Outdoor Ethics Awards

Outdoor Ethics Resources

Outdoor Ethics is part of scouting’s DNA. Teaching respect for our natural environment is a core part of Cub Scouting. By learning the Outdoor Ethics principles of Leave No Trace, Tread Lightly! and the BSA’s Outdoor Code, boys and their families can become better stewards of the environment.

The BSA recognizes the importance of this effort by providing recognition to scouts and scouters alike who learn more about outdoor ethics, and take action to implement outdoor ethics principles in their family and scouting life.

Scouts will have opportunities in their dens to practice these principles, and the pack sometimes schedules community beautification or cleanup service projects in which all are encouraged to participate.
