Our district is co-hosting an Adventure Weekend July 15th – 17th at Scoutland. The theme for the weekend is “A Knight’s Quest,” and activities include archery, slingshots, orienteering, trebuchets, shield building, and flag making. See the flyer below for more information.
Blue & Gold Celebration – 2022
Each year we celebrate the Birthday of Scouting with some scouting history and trivia, recognize the volunteers who make our program possible, and everyone’s favorite Blue and Gold Cake Bake!
The Cake Bake is a friendly dessert decorating competition. Taste is not part of the judging but we WILL EAT the entries after the meeting. There is a division for Lions and Tigers, and these scouts can decorate their entries any way they want. The older scouts will compete in the Cub division, and there are four categories for entries: Holidays, Transportation, Sports, and Scouting. The rules and details can be found here: https://www.bsapack564.org/resources/cake/ Participation in the Cake Bake is OPTIONAL – and even if you don’t enter a dessert, please come help us celebrate and eat the desserts afterwards!

Monthly Hiking Challenge
Our Hiking Club is getting a covid-safe reboot! Instead of gathering to hike together, we’ll spotlight a trail each month and encourage scouts & their families to hike at their convenience. Use this form to tell us about your hike and submit a picture to earn trail miles on your Hiking Passport.
September’s Hiking Challenge is at nearby Stone Mountain Park! See our Hiking Club page for details to complete this month’s challenge!
New Scouting Year Options
We are trying to figure out what Scouting looks like this year. We have heard from some families that you aren’t comfortable meeting in person, and others who are ready to gather. Please check your email for a survey and let us know how you want to participate in Cub Scouts this year!
We envision that some dens will meet virtually and others in-person. We are surveying families to find out your preference – virtual meetings, in-person group size, etc. You may meet with a den that is different from last year to accommodate your preference. We will need more dens and more adult volunteers to ensure a good experience for everyone. Our pack meeting place is not open yet, so expect pre-recorded video pack meetings for now.
We want to hear from you! Check your email for a survey from your Den Leader or our Cubmaster and let us know how you want to meet. If you are interested in joining us for the first time, please contact us so we can send you the survey.
